DISTRICT UPDATE
Aransas Pass ISD administration is actively monitoring the forecast for potentially inclement weather on the evening of Wednesday, September 24 through the morning of Thursday, September 25. Although we would all be grateful for the rain, based on information received from the National Weather Service, there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms and flash flooding.

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. In the event that travel conditions on Thursday morning are anticipated to be unsafe, we will provide additional updates regarding the school schedule via email, phone call, text message, District social media accounts, and local news media. Stay safe Panthers!

🐾Students will report to the concession stand entrance area and run the field at 6:30PM.

APISD Closed September 1 Labor Day
During this last full week of summer break, we want to remind our parents and guardians, and inform all new families, of the safety protocols we use at APISD to keep students and staff safe. APISD uses the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), which provides a common language across our district and with area first responders in the event of an emergency. Over the last few days we've been highlighting each action of the SRP.
What is the SHELTER Action?
The SHELTER Action is called when specific protective actions are needed based on a threat or hazard. The actions taken by staff and students during a SHELTER will vary based on the hazard.
Examples of SHELTER Conditions
The following are some examples of when a school or emergency dispatch might call for an SHELTER Action.
- Tornado
- Severe weather
- Wildfires
- Flooding
- Hazmat spill or release
- Earthquake
- Tsunami
Safety strategies may include:
- Evacuate to Shelter area
- Seal the room
- Drop, cover and hold

During EVACUATE, all students and staff move in an orderly fashion to a safe area.
Examples of EVACUATE Conditions
The following are some examples of when a school or emergency dispatch might call for an EVACUATE Action.
